| Abstract |
The Government of Kenya is embarking on the elaboration of District Development Plans for all districts in the country in order to improve the coordination of planning and implementation of development activities. The integration of biodiversity protection and the sustainable management of natural resources is one of the priorities of the Government. The research cooperation between Kenyan ministries, policy research institutes and BIOTA offers the opportunity to integrate biodiversity protection into District Development Plans in the form of priority action areas.
