Weather data
A large number of automatic weather stations has been implemented in the frame of the BIOTA AFRICA project by the Namibian National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and the Group "Biodiversity, Evolution and Ecology" (BEE) of the University of Hamburg. The website offers hourly updates of data and graphs of a large number of weather parameters.

Project description |
We will conduct a multi-disciplinary analysis of BIOTA East data on biodiversity and ecosystem processes available for all BDOs in Kakamega Forest. The impact of human activities, in particular forest fragmentation and local disturbance, will be analyzed for the 10 BDOs in Kakamega Forest. Key objectives are to identify sensitive indicator groups and processes for long-term monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem processes in Kakamega Forest. In a next step, these findings will inform spatial models and management planning for Kakamega Forest. |
