Weather data
A large number of automatic weather stations has been implemented in the frame of the BIOTA AFRICA project by the Namibian National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and the Group "Biodiversity, Evolution and Ecology" (BEE) of the University of Hamburg. The website offers hourly updates of data and graphs of a large number of weather parameters.

Project description

In view of current climate change and the need to ensure sustainable development in the long run, capacities to adapt to environmental stress and possible irreversible changes in the status of natural resources have to be evaluated. These very much depend on the existence of linkages to economic sectors outside agriculture, on the access to networks with support structures, and on the interconnectedness of actors across different strata. Work package 2 is explicitly concerned with this spatial interface, leading to acknowledgements of regional, social-environmental interdependencies.
