Weather data
A large number of automatic weather stations has been implemented in the frame of the BIOTA AFRICA project by the Namibian National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and the Group "Biodiversity, Evolution and Ecology" (BEE) of the University of Hamburg. The website offers hourly updates of data and graphs of a large number of weather parameters.

 Project description

In this work package, comprehensive data sets are combined that were obtained during Phase I and II for plants, bats and amphibians to analyse and to assess cross-taxon biodiversity patterns.
Common centres of biodiversity are identified through ecological niche modelling approaches at different scales. A special emphasis refers to Protected Areas (PAs), particularly for Pendjari NP (Benin) and Comoé NP (Côte d’Ivoire) as well as other areas (Arli, Pama). This will provide the basis for the development and application of effective strategies for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
