Weather data
A large number of automatic weather stations has been implemented in the frame of the BIOTA AFRICA project by the Namibian National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and the Group "Biodiversity, Evolution and Ecology" (BEE) of the University of Hamburg. The website offers hourly updates of data and graphs of a large number of weather parameters.

 Project description

Few studies on biodiversity patterns have assessed the proportion of already degraded and converted habitats and the resulting loss of biodiversity on a broad scale. In continuation of our previous interdisciplinary biodiversity assessment, the present status of biodiversity is analysed against the background of habitat fragmentation and loss due to anthropogenic impact. Remote sensing data on land cover, land use and infrastructure are combined with groups at different spatial scales, thus providing the necessary baseline data for the following workpackages (CT1-T2-WP2 – WP4).
